Set up terms, classes and the calendar
Terms
The Ugandan school year has three terms. In Brim you set each term's start and end dates once. Marks, fees and reports are all anchored to a term, so getting these right means everything else lines up automatically.
Classes
Name your classes the way your school does. Brim keeps each year's classes separate, so when students move up at the end of the year, last year's S1 and this year's S1 are distinct — history is never overwritten.
The calendar
The school calendar holds term dates, holidays, exam weeks and events. You choose what families can see: a sports day shows up for parents; an internal staff meeting does not. Parents see the calendar in their app, so "when does term end?" stops being a phone call to the office.
