Terms of service
Last updated 15 June 2026
The plain-language terms for using Brim and this website. Where a school has a written agreement with us, that agreement governs the commercial detail; this page covers the rest.
About these terms
These terms cover your use of the Brim website at brimapp.net and, where a school has signed up, the Brim platform. Using the site means you accept these terms. The specific commercial terms for a school — scope, support and pricing — are set out in the separate agreement made when a school starts a pilot or subscription.
What Brim is
Brim is a governed school-community platform: finance and payroll, classroom and academic tools, health records, attendance, parent communication, safeguarding, lifecycle, device management, calendar and exams, and staff organisation. It is delivered as web and native apps for the devices schools already use.
Pilots and pricing
Brim is currently offered to schools through guided pilots arranged individually. A pilot typically includes data import, staff training and a term of support; the exact scope is confirmed in writing with each school.
Pricing is set in Ugandan shillings and is being finalised — this site does not publish a price list, and any figure quoted to your school will be in your written agreement, not inferred from this page.
Your data is yours
A school owns the data it puts into Brim. We process it on the school’s instructions to provide the service, and for nothing else — we do not sell it or use it for advertising. On the end of an agreement, a school’s data is returned or deleted as that agreement provides. See the Privacy policy for the detail.
Acceptable use
When using Brim or this site, you agree not to:
- Use the platform to break the law or to harm a child or any other person.
- Attempt to access data, tenants or accounts you are not authorised to access.
- Probe, scan or test the security of the systems without our written permission.
- Interfere with the service, or use it to send unlawful, abusive or deceptive content.
Accounts and access
Access to the platform is granted through a school — there is no public self-signup. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials and any device used for biometric access secure, and for the actions taken under your account.
Availability
We work to keep Brim available and dependable, and we publish our continuity approach on the Security page. We do not promise uninterrupted service on this website; any specific availability commitment for a school is the one written into that school’s agreement.
Downloads
The apps offered for download here are provided for use with a Brim account. Some desktop builds are not yet code-signed or notarised; install notes on the download page explain this honestly. Without a school account, the apps cannot be used to sign in.
Limitation of liability
The website is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, Brim is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Liability in respect of the platform itself is governed by the school’s written agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes
We may update these terms; we will change the date at the top of the page when we do. For schools, the commercial agreement prevails over this page wherever the two differ.
